Where it annoys people

  • 01 Pricing depends on which reseller you happen to talk to. There is no single number to compare against.
  • 02 Support quality tracks the reseller too, so reviews contradict each other for good reason.
  • 03 Long hardware-bundled contracts are the norm and the hardware is locked to the merchant account.

Our take

The app market is deep and the hardware is decent, but Clover is sold rather than bought, and the distribution model is where the complaints come from. If you go this route, get the full quote in writing including the contract length, the early termination figure and the exact processing rate, then take that quote to a second reseller.
